Media Announcement
1st April 2020

As a result of the international outbreak of Coronavirus (COVID-19), we have taken the decision to reschedule the launch of

Aviation MENA until 18-19 October 2020.

After very careful consideration, the unprecedented impact of the global Coronavirus pandemic has forced this decision in the interests of the health and safety of our exhibitors, sponsors, visitors, contractors and staff.

We hope that this proactive move allows us all to stay safe and that Aviation MENA will be successful in bringing back together both the international aviation industry and regional operators and suppliers, discussing the ways the industry can help the region recover and deliver growth; looking at safety, the environment, regulations and commercial opportunities.

We are fortunate to be part of a supportive, well connected industry. We should all be reminded that 'great things happen when the aviation community comes together' and we look forward to seeing you, in Cairo (if not before), later this year.

We thank you for your patience and for your continued support as we all navigate this unprecedented situation.

Aviation MENA will take place at the Hilton Cairo Heliopolis Hotel, Cairo, Egypt 18-19 October 2020

Inflight partners with Aviation MENA, continuing its seven-year history of aircraft interiors and technology events in the Middle East

Inflight, an international media portfolio delivering industry-leading coverage of the end-to-end in-flight experience, and Aviation MENA, a summit and co-located exhibition featuring over 100 global aviation companies, have announced a new partnership: there will be an Inflight event at the first Aviation MENA Summit & Exhibition from 9 – 10 June in Cairo, Egypt. Becky Howells, Event Director for HMG Aerospace says ‘we are excited to announce this collaboration with Times Aerospace which allows us to continue providing this key region with the same quality event, highlighting key topics which are debated by the highest level of speakers and delegates in the industry. A move to Cairo enables us to deeper represent and penetrate the exploding North African market. A partnership with Times Aerospace, who have a huge following in the region, provides the perfect platform from which to do just that. It’s a perfectly timed and incredible opportunity to be working with such an established Aerospace event leader’.

Inflight MENA will comprise a pavilion, workshop and awards, a unique format which brings together key airline leaders in an environment which stimulates discussion and debate. Having enjoyed continued success in Dubai over the past seven years, this year sees the event move to Cairo in recognition of North Africa’s catalytic role in the development of the aviation industry over the last decade.

A key area for airlines in the adoption of new cabin interior solutions is access to a trusted supply chain network, access that the Inflight MENA pavilion, workshop and awards will facilitate. The Pavilion provides an area of the exhibition floor reserved exclusively for the latest innovations in passenger experience, where leading in-flight entertainment and connectivity manufacturers alongside aircraft interior suppliers showcase their product and service solutions.

The Workshop sees senior airline executives and industry leaders from across the cabin technology and aircraft interiors spectrum debate the latest topics affecting the market. The agenda includes: connectivity, seating and in-seat power, accessibility, inflight-entertainment systems and content provision, satellite communications, lighting, sustainability and ancillary revenues. Each session is open to all, and delegates may attend as many sessions as they wish. The event concludes with the Inflight MENA Awards which recognise outstanding IFEC and aircraft interiors product or service offerings from across the Middle East and North Africa region. Nominations for the Awards are now open.

Mark Brown from Times Aerospace comments that "HMG Aerospace’s Inflight event will be a valuable addition to Aviation MENA, ensuring that we cover all aspects of civil aviation for the airlines and suppliers attending the event. HMG are experts and a respected name in the inflight industry, and we are very happy to be partnering with them for this new launch event."

Many people and businesses thinking about aerospace business opportunities in the Middle East and North Africa region will focus on the booming UAE market.

But there is a lot more potential in MENA and Times Aerospace will be demonstrating this with our brand-new event for 2020.

Aviation MENA will be exploring the wider opportunities that exist with a growing industry in Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Jordan; a rebuilding of fortunes in Libya, Iraq and Syria; and manufacturing development across the whole of North Africa. Aviation and related-tourism already support some 2.4 million jobs and contribute $130 billion to the MENA region’s GDP. With passenger demand expected to double by 2037, these benefits could reach 4.3 million jobs and $345 billion, respectively* (Source: IATA April 2019).

Aviation MENA will bring together the international aviation industry with regional operators and suppliers to discuss the ways the industry can help the region deliver this growth looking at safety, the environment, regulations and commercial opportunities.

Expect to meet the C-suite leadership of business right across the region from Muscat to Marrakech in a top-level summit, looking at the issues affecting the region, and enjoy the networking events and busy exhibition that surrounds the conference.

Aviation MENA will take place at the Hilton Cairo Heliopolis, Cairo, Egypt.

Bookings for exhibition space at the event are now being taken and anyone wishing to speak at the event is now encouraged to contact us.
